Speeding Up Diagnosis: The Double Edged Sword of "Superhuman" AI in Medicine A team of doctors has developed a cutting edge AI tool that can spot heart disease in under two seconds using routine electrocardiogram (ECG) results.
This technology extracts more information from ECGs than the human eye can typically see and has already shown impressive results in a trial involving 67,000 patients in the US.
The AI was able to identify up to 81% of those with heart failure and up to 90% of those with heart valve disease – both common forms of heart disease that require early intervention.
