Powering Through Adversity: India's Lifeline to Flood Ravaged Nepal The devastating floods that ravaged northern and central Nepal last month have left a trail of destruction, altering not just the physical landscape but also the country's power sector.

As of September 13, India has approved the export of up to 654 MW of electricity to Nepal for 18 hours a day until December 31, in an effort to meet its urgent energy needs.

The scale of the disaster is staggering: hydropower infrastructure was severely damaged, reducing domestic power generation capacity and creating a pressing requirement for additional electricity.
